Rehome Your Small Dog

We understand that sometimes life circumstances make it necessary for you to rehome your dog. We know that it is not an easy decision to give up your dog, and that you want the best for them. We will do our best to help you.

Our process

1. Complete our Rehoming Application.

2. Email us recent photos of your dog. A good-quality photo will help us find them a foster home sooner.

3. A volunteer will call you to discuss your dog in greater detail.

Keep in mind

  • We are based in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County) and serve the inner suburbs of the Washington, DC metro area.

  • We are not an animal shelter and we do not have a physical facility. All our dogs are housed in private homes, so we can only accept your dog if we have an available foster home.

  • While we focus primarily on small dogs (30 pounds and under) who are seniors (7 years and older) or have special needs.

  • The most common breeds we rehome are Shih Tzus, Maltese, Lhasa Apsos, Yorkies, and other small-breed pure or mixed-breed dogs.
